What – Women’s Film Club Screening – Bad Market. A 14 year old runaway girl, Eno, is being trafficked to the big city of Lagos by Chike, a ruthless pimp/con artiste who intends to profit from her seeming innocence. Each one has to devise a plan to escape life’s harsh realities in a ‘dog eat dog’ world. Directed by Paul Gaius, Bad Market stars Teniola Funbi Adesolanke, Sunny Chikezie and Rita Edward. Fee N1,500

After a short hiatus Afropolitan Vibes is back at a new location. For the first of their quarterly Afropolitan Vibes shows, singer-songwriter Iyanya, Afro-soul singer Paul Play Dairo o, rapper-singer Mzkiss, and French hiphop artist Leeroy will perform alongside the 13-piece Bantu collective at their new home, Muri Okunola Park. The after-party will take place under the Friendship Tent at the park immediately after the show with DJ Vibes. There will be palm wine, food and drinks vendors, free Jameson Cocktails, and a MyMusic Chill Out Zone and Merchandise Stall.

What: Moët Party Day 2017 Moët Ice Imperial Party. June 17th 2017  has been set aside in over 80 countries to celebrate with lovers of Moët & Chandon with a series of carefully curated events happening simultaneously for 24 hours. Having previously treated Lagos to series of carefully curated dawn to dusk parties, the second edition promises to be more exciting as it will treat over 2,500 guests across Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt to a non-stop 24 hours party. The Moët Ice Imperial Party will play host to the a selection of Lagos’ top influencers, celebrities and individuals who know how to celebrate the moment with Moët & Chandon. During the All White Party at Shiro, there will be a special “Buy One Get One Free” Moët & Chandon offer to celebrate this day for the first 20 bottles ordered so make sure to come early! Music policy by DJ Factor. Dress Code: All White Casual

What: Ayoola by Ayoola Omogbolahan. Rele Gallery presents the first solo exhibition by visual artist Ayoola Omogbolahan. The first in his 20-year career, the eponymous exhibition is a tri-partite experience of works bordering around Abstract Landscape, Abstract Figuration, and Human Anthropology,  a visceral look from the artist’s point of view into mundane aspects of life and living. A gifted and prolific visual artist based in Lagos, Nigeria, Ayoola Gbolahan received his education in Fine Art from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. Following his education, Ayoola completed a residency with renowned Nigerian painter, Tola Wewe. His works have been included in  shows locally and abroad. He is also the recipient of numerous awards and various reputable mentions.

When: Opening Sunday 11th June 2017, 4PM.

Where: Rele Gallery, 5 Military Street Onikan, Lagos.


What: We Are The North by Williams Chechet. Nigerian born graphic designer, illustrator and muralist brings his latest art project, We Are The North to Lagos for his first solo exhibition at Moorhouse Hotel, in conjunction with Alliance Français de Lagos.

The project is a series of beautiful illustrations from Northern Nigeria, where Williams was raised, influenced by pop art – an art movement which involves imagery from popular culture being visually removed from its known context, isolated, and/or combined with unrelated material.

When: Opening Saturday 3rd June 2017, 5PM.

Where: Moorhouse Hotel, 1 Bankole Oki Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.


What: Fabrics & Dyes. In this six-week exhibition, discover Nigerian-made textiles from farm to fabrics. Learn about our cotton, our silk (yes we have silk!), our looms and the different kinds of patterns, fabrics & dyes we have in Nigeria. Tickets N5000. For more information, contact 09092153879.
