Review: Girl’s Trip – StyleVitae

Girl’s trip is the new ‘Act like a lady, think like a man’ which is a good thing.

After seeing multiple teasing thrillers I finally saw it a week ago and it is the most hilarious movie I’ve seen this year.

The story follows the lives of four best friends Dina the wild one (and my favorite), Ryan the boss lady, Lisa the mom and Sasha the gossip, who decide to go on a girl trip to New Orleans for the Essence festival, after loosing contact for a while. There they re-connect, go over old hurts and issues and reconnect with their old selves while having what would be the most unforgettable experience of their lives.

With a cast like that, I mean, Jada Pinkett Smith, Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Tiffany Hadish, Hottie Kofi Siriboe, Kate Walsh you can only expect the best.

Reviews from the biggest movie critics say the obvious about the chemistry among the cast members which was quite strong and how they give warmth to their roles, especially miss Haddish (she was perfectione).

The major key points were women empowerment and of course letting go and loosening up, while these two don’t exactly compliment each other it worked well for the movie. Most people wouldn’t see how a pack of girls going wild is empowering, but it wasn’t really just that. I mean they went wild sure enough but they mostly relied on themselves, they were all single and the one who was staying married because she thought she couldn’t succeed on her own learnt that she could and did. There was both the element of fun as well serious business.

All in all I rate this movie a whooping 2.5/4.
